We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing away of Prof. Czeslaw Kajdas, on May 15, 2017.

 Prof. Kajdas was one of those extraordinary people who will never be forgotten. He has devoted his life to the development of tribo-chemistry and lubrication, and contributed a lot to Sino-Polish collaboration in tribology. His efforts and dedication will always be remembered by our colleagues in the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication (LSL), Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
